For reference:
After the liberation of the Sumy region from the occupiers in the spring of 2022, the occupiers regularly bombarded the border areas with aircraft, artillery, and mortars. Because of this, this year, the regional authorities even decided to create a 5-kilometer resettled zone along the border with the Russian Federation.
Recently, the Operational Command "North" warned that the Russians launched a fake about the alleged preparation of the Ukrainian side for provocations on the border.
As reported, on September 1, around noon, the aggressors from the territory of the Russian Federation launched an artillery shelling of the town of Seredyna-Buda, Shostka district.
In addition, on August 23, in Romny, Sumy region, a school was destroyed due to a Russian air attack; two educators were killed, and three more people were injured.
In the Northern operational zone, the Sumy front remains the most dangerous, so Serhii Nayev said that the residents of the border areas should leave for safer regions.
As a reminder, since July 15, Ukraine has had the opportunity to evacuate from the Sumy region free of charge.
