South Korea to construct sewage treatment plants for Bucha community

South Korea plans to build sewage treatment plants for the Bucha community in the Kyiv region as part of intergovernmental cooperation on the reconstruction of Ukraine.

Bucha City Mayor Anatoliy Fedoruk announced this.

What is the problem?

Today, all of the Bucha community's sewage is being sent to Kyiv's Bortnychi aeration station.

"The overload on the pipelines is enormous, so there are periodic breakdowns. In addition, the system is quite worn out – a legacy of Soviet times," Fedoruk emphasized.

South Korea plans to build sewage treatment plants for the Bucha community as part of intergovernmental cooperation on the reconstruction of Ukraine.

How does it work?

The Korean side plans to start designing already at the beginning of 2024.

He also said the central logistics hub can be located on the basis of the Bucha Techno Garden industrial park.

"I had a separate conversation with Mr. Buong Ku Kang, director of one of the largest logistics companies in South Korea, CJ Logistics.

We plan to place a central logistics hub based on the Bucha Techno Garden industrial park," said Fedoruk.

This is a significant project for the modernization of the drainage system of the Bucha community.

In addition, the mayor thanked the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of South Korea for such support.

It should be noted that Ukraine and the Republic of Korea agreed on developing infrastructure restoration projects with the involvement of Korean high-tech experience and Korean business investments.

In addition, during the G20 summit, the President of South Korea, Yoon Suk Yeol, announced providing $2.3 billion in financial aid to Ukraine for recovery from 2025. Also, in 2024, Ukraine will receive $394 million from South Korea.

In addition, the government of South Korea adopted a decision allowing Korean business people to visit Ukraine for negotiations regarding their participation in reconstruction and reconstruction projects.
