According to Humeniuk, the Russian occupiers wanted to attack Beryslav on the Ukrainian-controlled right bank of the Kherson region but dropped the guided bomb on Nova Kakhovka.
"Trying to strike Beryslav with guided air bombs, the Russian occupiers dropped one of the anti-aircraft missiles on Nova Kakhovka in a residential area, damaging several apartment buildings. According to initial information, there are victims among the local population," she said.
The spokeswoman added that the occupiers wanted to blame the attack on the Ukrainian forces.

Nova Kakhovka Mayor Volodymyr Kovalenko commented to Suspilne that locals saw the plane drop an aerial bomb on the residential quarter. According to him, there is serious destruction in the city.
"Currently, the block where it happened has been surrounded by Russian occupiers. They are going around the apartments to see the consequences," he said.
The social media reports that buildings were damaged in the Sokil neighborhood. The occupiers announced that there were casualties.
Shelling of Kherson region
Kherson and the right-bank part of the Kherson region were liberated by the Ukrainian military in the autumn of last year after nine months of Russian occupation. Since then, Russian forces have been constantly shelling the de-occupied settlements.
