Ukrainian drone attack on occupied Crimea destroys Russian air defense system in Yevpatoria

Another morning in Crimea was welcomed by a series of Ukrainian drone attacks on the occupied peninsula.

Russian Defense Ministry reported powerful explosions in Yevpatoria, announcing a rescue operation. Local Telegram channels reported that several powerful explosions occurred near Russia's Naval Base.

Ukrainian media Suspilne added that explosions in the Crimea rang out near the village of Uyutne, on the west of the large city Yevpatoria.

Ambulances and rescuers drive along the streets. As local residents told the Suspilne Crimea, the explosion area could affect Russian military unit No. 85683, the publication says.

The Crimean Telegram channel "ChP Sevastopol" reported four powerful explosions. Natalia Gumeniuk, spokesperson for the South Forces Group, said that Ukrainian forces are striking only enemy targets.

The clusters of military facilities, the nearby airfield − all this shows that Ukrainian strikes are absolutely planned, she said.

The Kremlin-controlled TASS agency, citing the defense ministry, reported Russia allegedly destroyed 11 drones over Crimea. However, later, the media noted the drone reached Russia's air defense system and destroyed it.

At 7:22 in the morning, the Russian army said Ukrainian forces attempted to attack the patrol ship of the Black Sea Fleet "Sergey Kotov" in the Black Sea with five unmanned boats.

Explosions in Crimea

Explosions have been occurring frequently in the occupied Crimea lately. In most cases, they are associated with successful Ukrainian attacks against enemy soldiers, equipment, and ammunition depots.

On September 9, four powerful explosions rang out in the occupied Crimea near the town of Staryi Krym in the south of the peninsula near the military training ground of the Russian occupiers.

On August 23, a Russian long- and medium-range S-400 Triumph air defense missile system was destroyed by a well-planned Ukrainian operation. Both the system itself and the missiles and personnel located nearby were eliminated.

On September 13, an attack on the temporarily occupied Sevastopol damaged a Russian large amphibious assault ship and a submarine. Ukraine used British Storm Shadow cruise missiles for a large-scale attack on the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
