Four Ukrainian women make it to TIME 100 Most Influential People list

Four Ukrainian women were included in the annual list of 100 Next by TIME, uniting the world's most influential people of the new generation.

The list of the most influential people in the world has five categories: Leaders, Artists, Phenoms, Innovators, and Advocates, Rubryka reports, citing the American publication.

Four Ukrainian women got into the list at once:

• Yana Zinkevych, doctor and commander of the Hospitaliers battalion,

• Yulia Svyrydenko, the economy minister

• Anastasia Volkova, entrepreneur

• Daria Kaleniuk, executive director of the Kyiv Anti-Corruption Center.

Yana Zinkevych and Daria Kaleniuk were included in the Advocates section. Yulia Svyridenko got to "Leaders," and Anastasia Volkova was presented in the "Innovators" category.

The profiles of Ukrainian women were written by prominent representatives of their line of work. Kaleniuk was applauded by American lawyer and human rights defender Kenneth Roth for her fight against corruption and efforts to shine the spotlight on Russian war crimes. Zinkevych was described by TIME journalist Armani Sid as "instrumental in saving Ukrainian lives on the front lines." US Commerce Minister Gina Raimondo admired Svyridenko's resilience and passion for Ukraine's reconstruction, and American investor Thomas Steyer praised Volkova's business that promotes sustainable farming practices.

The list also includes the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metzola, actresses Maya Hawke and Rachel Zegler, actors Paul Mescal and Emma Korin, rapper Ice Space, and model Hailey Bieber.

In 2022, Ukraine's first lady, Olena Zelenska, and the human rights defender and Nobel laureate Oleksandra Matviichuk were included in the TIME 100 Most Influential People. Both Ukrainian women were noted in the "Leaders" list.

Ukraine also entered the list of the 20 most influential countries in the world according to the Global Soft Power Index 2023. It became the first country to rise so rapidly in the ranking.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken received the honorary title of "Person of the Year" from the popular Polish weekly Wprost.
