Ukrainians from eastern Poltava have restored 40 houses in Kherson region via "Side by Side" project

Poltava builders have already rebuilt 40 houses in Chkalove and Pravdyne of the liberated Kherson region, as part of the Side by Side restoration project, says Dmytro Lunin, head of the local military administration.
What is the problem?
Ukraine's southern Kherson region was under Russian occupation until November 2022. During the liberation of the right bank, hundreds of houses were destroyed the constant shelling. As of now, the enemy is constantly shelling the government-controlled part of the region.
Despite the Russian terror, occupation, destruction and shelling, people are returning home. They want to live on their land, in their country, to educate and raise their children here, said Oleksii Kuleba, Deputy Head of the President's Office.
Kherson residents constantly request their authorities to help rebuild their hometowns.
What is the solution?
As one of the most war-affected regions, the Kherson region has become a pilot site for the "Side by Side" project, which underlines 5 regions of Ukraine that pledge to restore its communities.
How does it work?
Ukraine's eastern Poltava region takes care of repairs in 96 houses in Pravdyne and Chkalove, liberated by Ukrainian forces soon after the Kherson deoccupation.

"The teams have already restored 40 households," Lunin emphasized.

As we previously reported, the "Side by Side" initiative is a large-scale project, where 15 Ukraine's regions are pledging to restore hundreds of houses in war-battered Kherson region, which suffered Russian occupation.
