Ukraine’s “Army of Drones” initiative trained another 3,000 combat operators in July

Ukrainian "Army of Drones" project trained 3,000 more combat operators as part of the second stage of the recruiting campaign, says Digital Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.

Recruits received theoretical and practical training and learned to operate reconnaissance copters, FPV drones, and bomber aircraft.

The operators successfully passed the exam and are ready to use their skills to destroy Russian equipment at the frontline.

Previously, Fedorov stated Ukraine's digital ministry has trained 10,000 drone operators as part of the "Army of Drones" initiative.

The Minister noted that the second boot camp stage, launched in June, is underway, as 3,354 operators have already been trained.

So far, five special schools have joined the project to train drone operators to "be invisible in the hottest spots, conduct reconnaissance, and hit the target." Over 30 institutions are involved in training drone operators.

Fedorov recently reported that the strike units provided by the "Army of Drones" project have destroyed 1,280 pieces of Russian equipment in three months.

The newest weapon destroyed 631 Russian troops, 246 tanks, 389 armored combat vehicles, 126 guns, 325 trucks, and other enemy vehicles and weapons.

The first companies of attack drones were formed as part of Ukrainian forces in March. AFU Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi approved their establishment.

The "Army of Drones" program includes systematic drone production, repair, and maintenance. It consists of the prompt replacement of UAVs and pilot training if requested. In August 2022, the first unmanned systems of various types were sent to the Ukrainian forces.

The newly integrated strike units supported by the initiative destroyed 75 units of enemy equipment, including nine tanks, in just a week.
