Ukraine’s air defense downs 25 Russian drones in this week’s third night attack

On Thursday night of September 7, the Russian forces attacked northern Sumy and southern Odesa regions with kamikaze drones for three hours.

The Russian occupiers released several groups of Shahed-136/131 attack drones from the north, southeast, and south (Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Russua, and Cape Chauda in temporarily occupied Crimea).

In total, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with 33 Shahed drones. The Air Force command says that most of the drones were directed toward the southern areas of the Odesa region.

"In today's air raid with Shaheds, civil and port infrastructure facilities, an elevator, and an administrative building were damaged in several locations," Oleh Kiper, the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, said in a statement.

A civilian was injured — the truck driver received a minor leg injury. The rescuers are working at the scene.

Also, explosions rang out in the Sumy region. Air defense forces were activated on the territory of the region. Locals also reported that explosions rang out in the regional center of Sumy during the air raid warning.

As reported, the commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Serhii Naiev, said that the effectiveness of the air defense system in the Sumy region should be increased.

Rubryka reported that on September 6, the Russian army attacked Ukrainian regions with missiles and drones, firing 33 aerial targets; the Air Defense Forces destroyed 23.

On September 4, Russian invaders attacked Ukraine with 32 Shahed-136/131 attack drones. Air defense forces managed to shoot down 23 of them.
