What we know about Russian attacks on September 6
On the night of September 6, Ukraine's Air Force warned about the threat of Shakhed drone attacks in the southern Odesa region.
"Movement of Shahed drones toward the south of the Odesa region. Izmail district, stay in shelters!" the Air Force said in a statement.
Later, Oleh Kiper, the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, reported that Russian invaders attacked the Izmail district of the Odesa region with strike drones, killing a person and causing destruction. As the head of the region reported, the Russian drone attack on the Izmail district lasted for more than 3 hours. Kiper also reported destruction and fires in several settlements. According to him, the attack damaged the port and agricultural infrastructure facilities: elevators, administrative buildings, and agricultural enterprises.
In the morning, the Air Force reported about the launch of cruise missiles from the Russian Tu-95MS jets from the northeast. The airmen stressed that Russian missiles, having entered the airspace of Ukraine, began to maneuver and often change their trajectory. Later, all rockets flying to different regions of the country were turned towards Kyiv.
Anti-aircraft defense was activated in the capital. All targets were downed. Later, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Serhii Popko, said that there was another attack on Kyiv, which was a combined attack: the Russian invaders used cruise missiles of the X-101/555/55 type and missiles of another type, likely ballistic.
The head of the military administration believes another Russian missile attack on the peaceful capital was "to kill the civilian population and destroy the infrastructure."
