Russian army kills 16 civilians in rocket attack on market in Kostiantynivka
On Wednesday, September 6, the Russian occupation forces attacked the town of Kostiantynivka in the eastern Donetsk region.
Radio Liberty and Donbas News report that 16 residents are known to have been killed.
According to Donbas News newspaper, previously, the Russian occupiers attacked the crowded market with S-300 missiles.
Social media are publishing videos from the place of impact.
Ukrinform also reports, citing the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, that 16 were killed and five were wounded.
President Zelensky reacted to the terrible attack on the peaceful population of Kostiantynivka. The Ukrainian leader expressed his condolences to all those who lost their relatives.
"Russian terrorists have attacked a regular market, shops, and a pharmacy, killing innocent people. The number of casualties could rise further," he said. "Anyone in the world who is still dealing with anything Russian simply ignores this reality. Heinous evil. Brazen wickedness. Utter inhumanity."

Although Kostiantynivka is believed to be the so-called "rear," in recent days, the town in the Donetsk region has been constantly shelled by the Russian occupiers.
Kostiantynivka was also shelled on September 5. Three people were injured. They were traveling in a minibus at the time of the attack. Two are in hospital in serious condition.
Before that, the occupiers also launched a rocket attack on Kostiantynivka early in the morning on September 5, injuring one person and damaging three high-rise buildings and three private houses.
