Serbia handed over 14 trucks of humanitarian aid to the Kherson region residents affected by the Kakhovka dam explosion, Ukraine's embassy reports.

What is the problem?

As Rubryka reported, on the night of June 6, Russian invaders blew up the Kakhovka HPP, located a few kilometers from the occupied city of Nova Kakhovka. The water in the Kakhovka reservoir began to fall rapidly, threatening to flood Kherson and nearby towns and villages.

Soon, the area of flooded agricultural land decreased by 600 hectares in the de-occupied territories. In addition, as of this morning, 1,923 houses remain underwater on the right bank.

The Russian occupiers are shelling the flooded Kherson just as people are being evacuated there. On Wednesday, June 14, Russian troops once again attacked Kherson. As a result of the shelling, two volunteers were wounded, among them a foreigner.

What is the solution?

The official handover ceremony took place on August 30 with the participation of Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabic and other high-ranking officials, the Ukrainian Embassy in Serbia's Facebook post.

How does it work?

The Serbian government took part in the pan-European humanitarian aid campaign for the civilian population of Ukraine and allocated humanitarian aid for the residents of the Kherson region affected by the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant dam by Russian terrorists.

At a briefing before the shipment, the head of the Serbian government and the head of the EU Delegation to the Republic of Serbia, E.Jofre, made short speeches to assure the audience of their unwavering intentions and determination to continue to provide the necessary assistance to the Ukrainian people in the tragic days of the Russian invasion.

Serbia's attitude regarding the war

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that his country is not against selling weapons to intermediaries who can then transfer them to Ukraine to fight Russian aggression. The US media reported, citing secret Pentagon documents, that Serbia had agreed or already sent weapons to Ukraine.

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic recently said that Serbia is ready to participate in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine and support its European integration by sharing its experience.

Previously, in July, the Serbian government provided humanitarian aid to Ukraine to overcome the consequences of the Russian troops' explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant.
