The new Ukrainian-produced UAV "Velikyi Banderyk" is already successfully used by the Ukrainian military at the front line.

Rubryka reports, citing the Ministry of Defense, that the ministry approved it for operation.

What is the problem?

The Ukrainian-Russian war has been dubbed and has long since turned into a "battle of engineers" coordinate system, a technological war.

It is too early to say that the unmanned aviation industry is fully established in Ukraine but developing rapidly.

Before the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, there were up to a dozen manufacturers. Now, after the state created a procedure for purchasing drones, more than 200 manufacturers have already registered as drone producers.

In September 2022, on the initiative of the Ministry of Defense, the procedures for accepting weapons and military equipment into operation were significantly simplified.

"Formalities that used to take up to two years are now completed in a matter of weeks. In particular, the Accelerator of the Ministry of Defense helps manufacturers in this process," Defense Minister Reznikov said. "We will not build a factory the size of a stadium. At least not now. We will find an asymmetric solution, and the enemy will feel it on the battlefield."

What is the solution?

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that the army successfully used the new Ukrainian-made Velykyi Banderyk drone at the front. It was admitted to operation in April of this year. The admission process lasted only a month.

How does it work?

As reported, the drone embodied several advanced ideas:

  • Eight powerful motors that ensure reliable operation;
  • The capability of carrying up to 31.5 kg of payload;
  • A multifunctional reset system that ensures accurate delivery of Various types of ammunition;
  • The possibility of remote control from anywhere in the world by means of a universal ground station.

Also, the Ministry of Defense stresses that the octocopter showed an excellent result and functioned successfully during EW tests:

  • despite the snow
  • gale wind,
  • the operation of all EW equipment that was on the training ground.

Rubryka reported that the Kruk UAV Operator Training Center has trained more than 600 new aerial intelligence officers and kamikaze drone control specialists over the past three months. The Honcharenko Center educational and cultural network team joined the operators' training.

Earlier, Rubryka reported that Ukrainian engineers developed a new SkyKnight 2 attack drone, the creation of which involved artificial intelligence. It was also reported that three Ukrainian state factories have already started production of FPV drones.
