Ukraine evacuates 350 children from Russian bombardment of Kupiansk

Since the beginning of August, the Kharkiv region authorities have evacuated 1,433 people, including 343 children, from the Kupiansk district, torn by Russian shelling.

Rubryka reports, referring to the statement of Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

"We continue to work on evacuating the civilian population from dangerous areas of the Kupiansk district," the head of the region said. "Today, 715 people were taken out, including 165 children. In addition, 718 people, 178 of whom are children, left communities under constant shelling on their own." 

Syniehubov also emphasized that since August 9, 1,433 people, including 343 children, have been evacuated from dangerous areas of the front-line Kupiansk district.

"We thank the volunteers and everyone who helped to carry out the evacuation. We call on the civilian residents who are still living under shelling to contact the United Humanitarian Coordination Center on the following phones: +380507890124 and +380637896474," said the head of the region.

The Kharkiv region announced the mandatory evacuation of the civilian population in the de-occupied territories of the Kupiansk district from August 9.

"The mandatory evacuation of the population to safe regions of Ukraine is announced in the de-occupied territories of settlements close to the combat zone of Dvorichna village, Petropavlivka village, partly in the territories of Kindrashivska village, Kurylivska village, and Kupiansk city territorial communities," the statement said.

Also, on August 28, the authorities announced the mandatory evacuation of children from the Vasylivka and Polohy districts of the southeastern Zaporizhzhya region.

Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, 1,620 children have been injured, including 503 minors who have been killed; 1,117 have received injuries of various degrees of severity.

As of August 29, juvenile prosecutors emphasize that they have already found 16,820 children. The prosecutor's office considers 1,167 minors to be missing.

The department emphasized that 19,546 children were abducted to Russia and the so-called republics, of which only 386 minors were returned home.

As Rubryka reported, another child was returned from the temporarily captured territory of the Kherson region with the participation of the Ministry of Reintegration.
