Occupiers threaten to deport Kherson citizens for refusing to obtain Russian passports
Russian occupiers continue to introduce forced passportization among the local population in the captured part of the Kherson region, according to the AFU General Staff report.
Taking occupied Mykhailivka in the Kherson region, Russians are harassing local residents who refuse to receive enemy passports. The refusal causes the occupiers to raid homes, conduct humiliating inspections, and threaten locals with imprisonment and deportation.
Previously, Ukrainian troops reported they raised the national flag on the Dnipro River's left bank in the Kherson region, occupied since the 2022 invasion.
Kherson telegram channels previously published this video. Ukrainian servicemen Andriy and Ivan raised the flag on one of the buildings near the temporarily occupied Oleshky.
The soldiers wanted to "make it clear to Russians that they had invaded Ukrainian land, which would be liberated." This is a sign of support for the locals under tremendous pressure in connection with the upcoming elections that the occupiers are trying to promote.
To install the flag, Ukrainian troops crossed the torn Antonivka Bridge connecting two banks of the Dnipro River, which was destroyed during Kherson's liberation in the autumn of 2022.
