Russian troops again shell eastern frontline Kupiansk, killing one civilian

Enemy forces attacked the frontline city of Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region. The shelling killed one security guard and wounded a 67-year-old man, local authorities report.

The attack took place on the morning of August 29 at 8.30 a.m. Russian forces fired from artillery howitzers, as they usually do to target settlements close to the whole frontline.

The shelling hit a food processing plant, killing a 45-year-old security guard, later authorities specified.

One of the munitions damaged a private house of a local resident. As a result, a 67-year-old man sustained shrapnel wounds. Authorities add the victim refused to be hospitalized.

Russian forces shelled Kupiansk previously at 5 a.m., damaging a civilian house.

Over the past day, on August 28, the enemy troops shelled several settlements of Kharkiv, Bohodukhiv, Izium, Chuhuiv, and Kupiansk districts.

The day before, the Russian forces shelled the village of Odnorobivka in the Kharkiv region, killing a 39-year-old woman.

The same week, the enemy shelling hit Kupiansk district, hitting a cafe; at least two people were reported dead.

Since the beginning of August, the Kharkiv region authorities have evacuated 1,433 people, including 343 children, from the Kupiansk district, torn by Russian shelling.
