Background
The Russian occupiers are shelling populated areas of the Zaporizhzhia region every day. Not only front-line cities and villages but also Zaporizhzhia fell under the attacks of the Russian forces.
However, the Ukrainian forces also strike at the Russians to eliminate their forces and equipment in the occupied part of the region.
This morning, August 28, explosions rang out near the temporarily captured Melitopol and Yakymivka of the Zaporizhzhia region.
So, on August 26, Meliptopol Mayor Fedorov reported on another explosion in Tokmak. In particular, he warned that "something bad" was happening to the enemy on the Melitopol axis.
At the same time, the Ukrainian military intensified its offensive in the Zaporizhzhia region this summer. Battles are taking place on two fronts — Melitopol and Berdiansk.
Recently, Ukrainian defenders entered the village of Robotyne and planted a Ukrainian flag there. According to military experts, Robotyne is the main obstacle on the way to the Russian forces' second line of defense.
The village is one of the key strongholds of the Russians on the stretch between controlled Orikhiv and occupied Tokmak, which they turned into a fortress on the way to another important junction — Melitopol.
