Russian forces attack Kherson city center, killing one
Russian troops attacked the liberated Kherson city center from artillery, killing one and injuring another civilians.
Local authorities report a woman received deathly injuries while walking on the city's streets.
Injuries incompatible with life were received by a woman walking outside. A 51-year-old man was also hospitalized in serious condition.
After its liberation in the fall of 2022, Kherson and the Ukraine-controlled right bank of the region have been enduring Russian attacks daily. The enemy shelling damages civilian infrastructure and kills citizens.
This morning, Russian troops dropped guided aerial bombs on the Kherson region, hitting several districts.
According to the head of the local military administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, Russian troops carried out 61 shellings, firing 272 shells from mortars, artillery, tanks, Grad long-range missile systems, and drones. The enemy fired 36 shells at Kherson.
The Russian military targeted the residential complexes of the region's populated centers, the building of the critical infrastructure object, the territory and building of the medical institution, the enterprise in Kherson, the national park, and warehouses in the Beryslav district.
As a result of the shelling, one person died, and four others were injured.
On the night of August 27, a large-scale air alert sounded throughout the country, and the enemy launched cruise missiles in the direction of the capital. Anti-aircraft defense forces shot down all enemy targets.
