Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the Ukrainian Air Force has carried out more than 14,000 combat missions, says Commander Serhii Holubtsov.

The commander noted that over 6,000 combat missions were aimed at the enemy's firepower, and about 7,000 were for the troops' air cover.

Ukrainian aircraft hits Russian control points and warehouses, intercepts enemy aircraft, and shoots down drones with missiles used by the occupiers to attack Ukraine.

He thanked international allies, particularly the Aviation Coalition, made during the Ramstein defense summit, for their military assistance but noted that Ukraine needs modern jet fighters "faster and more often."

To clear the sky of Russian junk, our pilots desperately need modern aircraft and powerful missiles. Our pilots are ready, they can do it, they will win and they have proved it many times, emphasized the Chief of Aviation of the Air Force Command.

The speech was announced on Ukraine's Aviation Day, a holiday for military and civilian aviators and employees of the aviation industry and transport.

Previously, Ukraine's Air Force said it would increase the aircraft fleet by adding F-16s, which would accelerate the victory over the Russian occupiers.
