This is reported on the website of the Office of the President.
What is the problem?
"Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, a quarter of a million children have been born in Ukraine. This means that their mothers heard alarm signals, ran to bomb shelters, and were nervous. Sometimes they did not have timely access to medicine.
Sometimes they gave birth in unusual conditions for women in labor. The number of premature births increased by 10% last year alone, and this is a direct result of the war. Babies who were meant to be born under normal circumstances arrive into the world under extreme conditions," the first lady emphasized.
What is the solution?
Zelenska also reported that the supply of neonatal ambulances is the result of negotiations on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in the fall of 2022 and a meeting with the Executive Director of the UN Population Fund and the Executive Director of UN Women, Sima Bahous.
The cars will be given to regional children's hospitals and perinatal centers in 16 regions: Vinnytsia, Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy and Chernivtsi.
How does it work?
According to reports, ambulances are equipped with specialized equipment to provide emergency care to mothers and babies on the way.

"It is necessary that our every word, every commitment becomes a deed and not remain words. Because only deeds save. A person in danger needs emergency help, not words. So, we are doing everything right," Zelenska summed up.
For reference:
It should be noted that the UNICEF Children's Fund is a specialized structure of the UN. UNICEF is a global leader in protecting children's rights and interests, working in more than 190 countries and territories around the world to protect and support children from birth to adulthood.
It should be noted that the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) are jointly developing a mine safety workshop for Ukrainian students. An online course on teaching mine safety to children of all ages will be available for teachers.
In addition, UNICEF delivered 240,000 doses of polio vaccine to Ukraine.
