Russian missiles strike Dnipro: seven civilians injured

On Thursday night, August 24, the Russian forces struck Ukraine's central city of Dnipro with rockets.

The head of the Dnipro regional military administration, Serhii Lysak, announced that seven people were injured, and houses, other buildings, buses, cars, and water and gas pipelines were damaged, Rubryka reports.

"In the middle of the night, we heard powerful explosions in Dnipro. The enemy hit the city with rockets. Defenders from the East Air Command downed one, but there were also impacts," said the head of the region. "The transport facility was destroyed. Seven people were injured: three men and four women, aged 32 to 55. Most of them have lacerations and shrapnel injuries. Six were hospitalized in a moderate condition." 

Lysak said that a dozen buildings were damaged, including a bank, a gas station, a hotel, an agricultural company, furniture production, and an administrative building. The governor also reported damage to 15 kiosks, two residential buildings, three buses, several cars, a contact trolleybus network, and water and gas pipelines.

Explosions in Dnipro on August 24

On August 24, an air alert was announced in a number of regions of Ukraine due to another Russian missile attack threat. The command of the Ukrainian Air Force warned that the Russian occupiers may use ballistic weapons to launch strikes at a number of regions, including in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Explosions in the city were heard around half past three in the morning. The military announced that the air defense systems were activated in this region. Residents of the regions where the air alert was declared were asked to remain in bomb shelters and to observe the "two walls" rule.

On August 15, Russian rockets hit an enterprise and a sports facility in Dnipro. People were injured.

"An important sports facility for Dnipro. All-Ukrainian competitions were held here. Children practiced. Today, in addition to the enterprise, Russian rockets mutilated it as well," Serhii Lysak reported.

Also, on July 28, a Russian missile hit a residential building in Dnipro during an air raid, injuring residents.
