Reuters reports this, referring to the message of the Norwegian government.
"Norway will continue to support Ukraine's defense against Russia as long as necessary. Ukraine now urgently needs more military and material support. They are in great need of missiles and ammunition for air defense. And here, Norway supports you with everything it can," said the prime minister Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
The Norwegian government notes that air defense is critical to Ukraine's ability to protect the civilian population, front-line infrastructure, and military units from any type of air attack by Russia.
Air defense support has been a top priority for Ukraine since the beginning of the war. Western and Norwegian air defense support was crucial in preventing Russian airspace control and thus helped avoid extensive civilian suffering and military casualties.
"In the past, Ukraine received significant help from Western countries in the field of air defense, but the need for it remains huge. Norway will continue to support Ukraine in its struggle for protection against Russian forces. Therefore, now we will transfer anti-aircraft missiles. This is one of the largest Norwegian to date donations to Ukraine in the form of military aid," the Prime Minister said.
It is noted that the missiles will be able to be launched from launchers that Sweden previously decided to hand over.
At the same time, missiles corresponding to the donated missiles will be purchased for the Armed Forces of Norway.

Previously, Norway had already contributed to the air defense of Ukraine by handing over the NASAMS and Mistral air defense systems.
On Thursday, it also became known that Norway decided to transfer F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.
It should be noted that Denmark and the Netherlands announced the decision to hand over these planes to Kyiv after completing training. In particular, Ukraine will receive 42 American F-16 fighter jets from the Netherlands and 19 aircraft from Denmark. Training of Ukrainian pilots will begin as soon as possible.
