United to win: Lithuania donates €40 mln worth of military aid to Ukraine on Independence Day

Lithuania is sending another package of military support worth 41 million euros to Ukraine on the occasion of the anniversary of independence.

The Ministry of Defense of Lithuania reports this.

The package contains:

• ammo Carl Gustaf,
• rifles,
• maritime surveillance radars,
• 5.56 mm caliber ammunition,
• generators,
• anti-drone tools etc.

NASAMS missile systems will also be transferred to Ukraine.

According to the ministry, for the first seven months of this year, the military support already transferred by Lithuania to Ukraine includes Mi-8 helicopters, L-70 anti-aircraft guns with ammunition, M113 armored personnel carriers, millions of rounds of ammunition, and ammunition for grenade launchers.

Lithuania also:

• prepares expert consultations;
• allocates funds to international funds to support Ukraine;
• promotes the training of Ukrainian soldiers, conducts courses for them;
• the Lithuanian army instructors also participate in the "Interflex" operation, during which, together with other NATO allies, they teach Ukrainian soldiers the subtleties of combat.
• Ukrainian soldiers wounded in battles are recuperating in Lithuania. Medical and rehabilitation institutions have already adopted about 200 wounded defenders of Ukraine, and it is planned to adopt even more.

It should be noted that, during the visit to Kyiv on August 23, the President of Lithuania, Gitanas Nauseda, said that his country will transfer additional NASAMS anti-aircraft missile complex launchers to Ukraine.

The leader of Lithuania noted that during the meeting with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, he assured him of Ukraine's support for victory over Russia. Nauseda also clarified the terms of delivery of NASAMS installations.

"Lithuania will deliver NASAMS launchers to Ukraine next month," the president emphasized.

As reported, on August 5, Lithuania formed a new package of military aid to Ukraine, including launchers for NASAMS complexes.
