United to win: Japan to provide Ukraine with up to $7 bln in aid
Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida announced that Japan will provide aid to Ukraine in the amount of up to $7 billion.
He reported this while speaking online at the 3rd summit of the International Crimean Platform in Kyiv.
"Japan will constantly provide [Ukraine – ed.] with various assistance in the amount of up to $7 billion, depending on needs," he said.
In addition, Japan will use its experience and knowledge in the field of post-war reconstruction and recovery after natural disasters to assist, he said.
Kishida reiterated that Japan consistently supports Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, including Crimea, and will continue cooperating closely with the international community, including the G7 countries, and join sanctions against Russia, providing constant assistance to Ukraine.
"I visited Kyiv and Bucha in March of this year and witnessed the tragedy with my own eyes. This confirmed my conviction that Russia's aggression against Ukraine is an extraordinary act that destroys the foundations of the international order," he said.
Kishida emphasized:
"Japan is on the side of the people of Ukraine to ensure peace and return it to the beautiful Ukrainian land."

As Rubryka previously reported, the Prime Minister of Japan lifted the ban on arms exports, which may allow it to increase defense support for Ukraine.
Japan is handing over 100 trucks for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and 30,000 dry rations.
