Ukrainian intelligence lures Russian helicopter and pilot into Ukraine's airspace
It is reported that a Russian Mi–8 combat helicopter landed in Ukraine, and Ukrainian intelligence is performing operations with the crew.
Andrii Yusov, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, confirmed that a Russian Mi-8 helicopter with a crew flew to one of the air bases of the Ukrainian Armed Forces some time ago. He said this on the air of the telethon.
"Official information will be available in advance. Yes, there is such information. You have to wait a little; work is underway, including the crew. Everything is fine; there will be news," said Yusov, commenting on the information that a Russian Mi-8 helicopter with a crew landed at the Poltava airfield.
For reference:
Rumors were actively spreading on the Internet that a Russian Mi-8 helicopter allegedly flew to Ukraine and landed at the Ukrainian air base. It was written on the network that the helicopter pilots, they say, "lost their waypoint, that's why they got to the unoccupied territory of Ukraine," but when they realized where they were, it was already too late.
The journalist Yuriy Butusov also wrote the information that the Russian helicopter flew into the territory of Ukraine, and its crew voluntarily surrendered. His message was actively spread in the mass media. It should be noted that earlier, the "disappearance of the Mi-8" was announced by Russian propagandists. They claimed that the combat helicopter "accidentally landed in Poltava."
