Russian drone attack on school in Sumy region kills fours educators

The Russian air attack destroyed a school in Romny, Ukraine's northern Sumy region, killing two educators and injuring three more people.

Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko reported on the tragic events on Telegram:

"In Romny, Sumy region, the Russians destroyed a school and killed at least two educators. Rescuers of the State Emergency Service unblocked their bodies. Three more people were injured."

According to the minister, two more employees are under the rubble. The search and rescue operation is ongoing, Klymenko noted.

All services work at the scene of an emergency. The headquarters of liquidation of the consequences has been deployed.

UPD: The number of killed by the Russian drone attack on the school in Romny has increased to four people. Rescuers of the State Emergency Service unblocked the bodies of the school principal, deputy principal, secretary, and librarian, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports. Four more people were injured. The operation to clear the debris has been completed.

As Rubryka previously reported, on the night of August 23, 2023, the Russian forces launched the Shahed-136/131 attack drones from the southeast direction to attack the Odesa and Zaporizhzhia regions.

The Russian occupiers carried out airstrikes on Kherson, destroying a kindergarten. Six people were injured.

At night, the Russian forces carried out another drone attack on the Odesa region from the eastern coast of the Sea of Azov, targeting granaries and a production and transshipment complex on the Danube.
