Ukraine's air force downs 11 of 20 Russian drones in night attack
By night, the Russian forces launched a drone attack across Ukraine.
Ukraine's Air Force reports that some drones were shot down.
On the night of August 23, 2023, the Russians launched Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs from the southeast. Up to 20 attack drones were launched from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk region (Russian Federation), Chauda (Crimea).
The forces and means of the Air Force, in cooperation with the air defense of other components of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, destroyed 11 Russian drones — nine in Odesa and two in the Zaporizhzhia region.
As Rubryka previously reported, the Russian forces dropped two guided aerial bombs on Kherson, destroying a kindergarten and injuring six people.
At night, the Russian forces carried out another drone attack from the eastern coast of the Sea of Azov on Odesa's granaries and a production and transshipment complex in the Danube.
