Russian troops shell village of Komyshany near Kherson: casualties reported
Today, August 22, the Russian forces attacked the village of Komyshany in the southern Kherson region.
Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, reports that locals on the street came under fire.
The attack killed a 71-year-old woman who received deadly injuries. A 55-year-old man was also injured and was hospitalized.
Background
After the Ukrainian forces liberated the right bank of the Kherson region, the Russians have been shelling the region, including Kherson, on a daily basis. Invaders use heavy weapons, aircraft, and drones for strikes.
According to the regional administration, on August 21, the Russian occupiers carried out 71 rounds of shellings, firing 356 shells from mortars, artillery, tanks, Grad multiple rocket launchers, and drones. In particular, the Russian army fired 11 shells at Kherson.
The Russian military targeted the residential quarters of the population centers of the region, the territory of the cottage cooperative in the Kherson district, the farm's territory, and the Beryslav district's national park.
As Rubryka reported, with the help of a drone, the Russian occupiers attacked a resident of Zolota Balka, Kherson region. The attack left the 43-year-old man with multiple shrapnel wounds to his chest, abdomen, and leg. As a result of the shelling, four people were injured.
Also, on August 20, the Russian forces struck a residential building with a tank in Kozatske, Kherson region, killing a woman. On the same day, the Russian forces dropped two explosive devices from a drone on Novoberyslav, killing a man.
