Ukraine's drone attacks on Moscow are within international law, German and Estonian FMs say

German FM Annalena Baerbock backs Ukraine's drone attacks inside Russia and argues that Kyiv is acting within international law. Estonian FM Margus Tsahkna supported her statement, Anadolu agency reports.

At a joint news conference with her Estonian counterpart, Baerbock stated Ukraine has a right "enshrined in the UN Charter" to defend its country and people.

Russia has violated the prohibition of the use of force in the UN Charter. Russia is bombing civilian targets in Ukraine relentlessly, targeting grain silos, hospitals, and churches. Ukraine is defending itself within the framework of international law.

Estonia's top diplomat also voiced support for Ukraine's counteroffensive and stressed that Kyiv's military operations are within international law.

We must push Russia back to Russia. We must use every kind of opportunities for that.

Speaking about the increase in the number of drone attacks, German and Estonian ministers agreed that Russia is responsible for them.

Drone attacks against Moscow have intensified over recent weeks. Two drone strikes on the same target, the high-rise "Moscow City" building where several Russian ministries are housed, caused damage on July 30 and August 1.

On August 22, drones again attacked the Russian capital. A high-rise building and cars were damaged near Moscow. Russia usually blames the Ukrainian military for strikes, while Ukraine rarely claims direct responsibility.
