Ukraine's "Army of Drones" initiative sends 270 locally made combat UAVs to soldiers
The UNITED24-backed "Army of Drones" project is sending over 270 Ukrainian-made Vampire attack drones to the contact line, says digital minister Mykhailo Fedorov.
The drones can carry up to 15 kilograms of payload. Ukrainian forces will use them to destroy armored vehicles and tanks, as well as Russian defenses, fortifications, and ammunition storage points. Each drone is equipped with a thermal imager, enabling it to operate effectively at night.
You will soon see the striking performance of these drones in the reports of UAV attack companies, he said.
The Army of Drones is a joint project of the Ukrainian General Staff, the State Special Communications Service, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, and the Defence Ministry to procure UAVs for troops, who rely on this weapon the most.
Previously, Ukrainians donated $6.3 million in three days to a fundraising initiative organized by the UNITED24 platform, Come Back Alive Foundation, and Monobank to purchase 10,000 kamikaze drones for the Ukrainian army.
