Ukrainian partisans burn down Russian military base in occupied Mariupol – mayor's advisor
Petro Andriushchenko, adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, has said that the partisans destroyed the Russian base in the city.
The official reports that the partisans burned down the Russian base in the afternoon. He released a photo of the fire but did not provide any additional information.
Ukrainian partisans had already destroyed Russian bases before. In late July, they managed to destroy an ammunition depot in Mariupol to stop Russia's advance on the southeastern front.
On the night of August 13, Ukrainian troops struck the temporarily occupied Oleshky in the Kherson region, targeting Russia's military base, which contained equipment and a large amount of ammunition.
According to reports, the explosion in Oleshky destroyed two warehouses with ammunition.
Russian troops have occupied Mariupol since the first months of the large-scale invasion. Recently, explosions have become more frequent in the city, as there are constant hits that destroy equipment and Russian troops based in the captured city.
