Zelensky meets with Ecumenical patriarch's representative to discuss return of children deported by Russia
On August 10, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with the representative of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, during which they discussed the return of children deported to the Russian Federation.

As the Ukrainian leader noted, Metropolitan Emmanuel's visit to Ukraine is an important signal of support from the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
"Today, during the conversation, we paid attention to the spiritual independence of our country. We discussed the Ukrainian formula for peace, as well as the issue of the return of illegally deported children to Ukraine," Zelensky wrote.
In turn, the Metropolitan assured during the negotiations that Ukraine could be sure of the support of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

On August 10, Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon arrived on an official visit in Kyiv. As he informed, the purpose of such a trip is to show the constant support of the heroic people of Ukraine on the part of the Church.
The representative of the Ecumenical Patriarch decided to come to Ukraine after a corresponding invitation from Zelensky.
It is worth noting that on July 8, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in Turkiye. Then the parties discussed the peace formula.
