Russian rocket attack on Zaporizhzhia kills three civilians and injures nine, including a baby
The number of killed and wounded increased following the Russian attack on the residential quarter of Ukraine's southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia on Wednesday, August 9.
Rubryka reports, citing the statement of the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Yurii Malashko, on the Telegram messaging app, that as of the morning of August 10, it is known about three killed and nine wounded, including a baby.
"Three dead and nine injured, including an 11-month-old child, were the result of an attack on the regional center. A Russian missile took the lives of a 43-year-old man and young women aged 19 and 21," Malashko said.
Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko reported that another woman died in the hospital in the morning.
"As of 8:30 a.m., three people died, and nine were injured. One person is in serious condition," the minister said.
According to Yurii Malashko, the Russian occupiers have carried out 82 attacks on 21 populated areas of the Zaporizhzhia region over the past day.
Russian artillery fired at the territory of Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, Novoandriivka, Novodarivka, Levadne, Bilohiria, Chervone, Stepnohirsk, Stepove, Plavne, Maly Shcherbake, Piatikhatky, Lobkove, and Kamianske.
The authorities also recorded four airstrikes on Orikhiv and Mala Tokmachka, and four drones attacked Huliaipole, Malynivka, Olhivske, and Novodarivka. The Russians also hit Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Olhivke, and Levadne with anti-aircraft guns. And there were two rocket strikes on Zaporizhzhia and Pidhirne.
A family became victims of the attack on Huliaipole: women aged 55 and 66 and men aged 39 and 68 were injured, and they were promptly taken to the hospital of the regional center.
The authorities received 54 reports about the destruction of residential buildings, educational institutions, and other social infrastructure facilities.
Background
On August 9, Russian troops attacked a residential quarter of Zaporizhzhia. At first, it was reported that two people were killed and eight were injured due to the attack. In Zaporizhzhia, a church was also destroyed by a rocket attack.
