Peter Stano, European Commission spokesman, condemned a Russian missile attack that killed seven people in Pokrovsk, the frontline town in the Donetsk region.

Stano stressed that such actions of Moscow emphasize the criminal nature of Russian aggression.

Attacks in Pokrovsk show again how Russian targets residential buildings, even stepping up the heinous nature of Putin's war with repeated attack when rescuers arrived to the site, Stano said.

Stano stressed "there will be no impunity" for Russian war criminals.

On August 8, Ukrainian rescuers completed operations in a five-story residential building, which was damaged by Russian missiles on August 7.

As reported in the State Emergency Service, 7 civilians died, in particular, 1 employee of the State Emergency Service and 82 people were injured.

The rescuers removed 122 tons of construction waste. 46 rescue personnel and 12 pieces of equipment were involved in the clean-up of the devastating shelling consequences.

Ukraine's frontline Pokrovsk was attacked with two Russian ballistic missiles, targeting residential buildings and rescuers who came to help the injured. The attack damaged 12 high-rise buildings, a hotel, an office building, a pharmacy, two shops, two cafes, and vehicles.
