Poland's foreign ministry summoned Ukraine's ambassador Vasyl Zvarych on Tuesday evening after Ukraine's foreign ministry summoned the Polish ambassador amid criticism from Warsaw about Kyiv's alleged lack of gratitude.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland announced the summons of the ambassador in a short message, European Pravda reports.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs that the Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland has been invited to the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in connection with statements made by representatives of the Ukrainian authorities," the ministry said in a statement on Twitter.

The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not provide other summons details.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Ambassador of Poland to Ukraine, Bartos Cihotski, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kyiv due to the statement of the head of the international policy office in Andrzej Duda's administration, Marcin Przydacz.

In an interview with the Polish mass media, Przydacz noted that Ukraine received tremendous support from Poland and "should start appreciating the role that Poland has played for Ukraine in recent months and years."

The relevant statements of the Polish official were made in the context of the situation regarding blocking the export of Ukrainian grain through Poland.

At the same time, the Office of the President of Ukraine called statements in Warsaw that Kyiv does not value the help provided by Poland as baseless.
