Ukraine set to improve soldiers’ uniforms with new “tactical sneakers”

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine unveiled so-called "tactical sneakers" for Ukrainian defenders, which have already passed military research tests for comfort and are now waiting for feedback from soldiers.

What is the problem?

Since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine, thousands of Ukrainian men and women have enlisted to defend their land from the Russian invaders. Ukrainian defenders must be provided with uniforms and quality shoes.

On the front line, having comfortable shoes is essential because danger lurks every minute. You need to react and move quickly.

What is the solution?

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksii Reznikov, has repeatedly asked for help from partner countries in supplying clothing for the Armed Forces, especially in winter. However, they are also working on this in Ukraine.

How does it work?

According to the ministry, more than 10 Ukrainian firms volunteered to provide their models of comfortable ankle boots for test wear by potential consumers. The first stage of tests by military personnel for convenience and comfort has ended.

After receiving feedback from the troops, the officers will work out the technical specification considering the service members' recommendations and suggestions. Then the sample will be approved to order new batches or improve existing ones.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Special Service of Transport will accept a new item of tangible property or upgrade existing ones.

Three million hryvnias to purchase military tactical shoes for women defenders were raised by the NGO Zemliachki together with partners from the beauty industry and Ukrainian companies.
