Ukrainian troops make progress on southern front, entrenching at achieved borders
The spokesperson of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Andrii Kovaliov, said that the Ukrainian soldiers were successful in the Staromaiorske district on the southern front.

"Ukrainian troops were successful in the Staromayorske area on the southern front," said the General Staff spokesperson.
According to Kovaliov, the defense forces are entrenched at the achieved boundaries. At the same time, the Russians made unsuccessful attempts to restore the lost position northeast of Robotyne.
Kovaliov added that the Russian army continues to put up strong resistance, moves units, and actively uses reserves. Ukrainian defenders advance in the Bakhmut, Melitopol, and Berdiansk areas.
"Ukrainian soldiers continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Bakhmut, Melitopol, and Berdiansk directions, are entrenched at the reached boundaries, and inflict fire damage with artillery on the identified enemy targets," Kovaliov noted.

On the Bakhmut front, the defenders continue to conduct offensive actions north and south of Bakhmut. In the Kupiansk and Lyman directions, the defense forces continue to hold back the offensive of the Russian occupiers. Heavy fighting continues there.
Situation at the front
According to the General Staff, more than 26 combat clashes occurred in the past day. The Ukrainian military hit 22 Russian artillery locations.
In the Bakhmut direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have already liberated 35 square kilometers.

At the same time, the National Security Council of the United States noted that the Russian occupiers had been erecting several lines of defense on the occupied territory of Ukraine for many months, slowing the advance of Ukrainian troops. However, the Armed Forces have already liberated 50% of the territory captured by the Russian Federation.
Russia continues to suffer losses in the war of aggression against Ukraine. During the war, 243,680 Russian occupiers have already been eliminated. In general, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine said that the counteroffensive in terms of effectiveness is going according to plan.
