Ukrainian eco-startup Releaf Paper to open a plant in France to produce paper from fallen leaves
The Ukrainian start-up Releaf Paper, which has developed a technology to produce environmentally friendly paper from fallen leaves, is launching a plant in France.
Rubryka reports, referring to Foodbev.com, that the plant for producing eco-packaging from fallen leaves should start operating by the end of 2024. The enterprise must process up to 10,000 tons of raw materials per year.
Releaf Paper wants to acquire at least three more plants in Europe within five years. There are also plans to locate factories in North America, Japan, and South Korea.
As previously reported by Rubryka, the Ukrainian startup Releaf Paper, which produces paper from fallen leaves, won the EIC Accelerator 2022 program from the European Commission.
The startup attracted a €2.5 million grant from the European Commission. Releaf Paper plans to raise another €1 million for the construction of the factory in the form of a loan from one of the French banks.
