71% of Ukrainians currently residing in Poland due to Russian hostilities plan to return home in the future, says Ukraine's Ministry of Reintegration, citing the latest poll.

The respondents admitted they plan to get back to Ukraine within the next three months.

Among the key factors influencing the desire to return home, 93% of respondents mentioned security.

Around 31% want to reunite with their families, and 66% want to see their country and live in their own cultural environment.

Most of the respondents were women. Almost half of them came to Poland with children or elderly relatives.

Since February 24, 2022, over 13.8 million refugees from Ukraine have crossed the Polish border, with the largest number on March 6 – more than 142 thousand people.

Overall 1.5 million Ukrainian refugees obtained a Polish national identification number – known as a PESEL – which allows them to access public services and social benefits.

The government estimates Polish families have hosted 1.6 million Ukrainian refugees in their homes since the invasion.
