The company reports this on its website.
What is the problem?
The Ukrainian military needs hundreds of drones of various modifications to fight the Russian invaders. Many countries worldwide have volunteered to help acquire UAVs for Ukrainian defenders or provide them free of charge.
However, the drones of foreign companies are too expensive (from 500 thousand dollars and above). It will be much cheaper to develop the Ukrainian market to produce drones.
What is the solution?
In Ukraine, the development of drones is majorly taking off. Right now, there are a hundred firms that produce them.
The Mini Shark will be shown at the International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF), which will take place from July 25 to 28 in Istanbul.
How does it work?
The developers note that the Mini Shark is a light and compact drone that can be launched manually and fits into two backpacks. It was created for operational reconnaissance missions.
The Ukrspecsystems website also states that the drone can fly for two hours within a communication radius of up to 30 kilometers. It is equipped with a Full HD camera with 10x optical zoom and the ability to track targets.
For reference:
The Ukrspecsystems company was founded in 2014 after the Russian invasion of eastern Ukraine.
The company notes that the Ukrainian army did not have drones ready for a full-scale war.
In addition, customs restrictions on importing such equipment were still in effect in Ukraine then.
So Ukrspecsystems developed its first military drones based on recreational drones and quadcopters. The company's portfolio now includes drones such as the PD-2 UAS (2020) and the Shark (2022).
The company also offers electronics and equipment for its own and other UAVs.
Based on the Anti-Shahed Drone Hackathon result, three Ukrainian manufacturers will receive $1 million each for implementing and scaling up developments against enemy UAVs.
As reported, over 11 months of the existence of the Army of Drones project, 3,864 UAV complexes were purchased with the funds of United24. The sum of concluded contracts is more than 4.3 billion hryvnias.
Also, UAV Operator Training Centers taught 10,000 soldiers to operate drones in 10 months.
