Russia attacks Odesa, killing one civilian and injuring at least 19, including children

On the night of July 23, the Russian occupying forces attacked Odesa. As a result, one person was killed, and others were injured. Civilian infrastructure, homes, and a religious building were all damaged.

The head of the regional military administration, Oleh Kiper, reported this.

So far, one civilian has been killed due to the attack. Emergency teams are working on the ground.

As of 05:00, Kiper reported 19 victims, including four children. Fourteen people were hospitalized in city hospitals; three of them were children. At the same time, according to the police, as of 4:00 a.m., 22 people were injured.

As a result of the attack, six residential buildings, including multi-apartment buildings, were destroyed. The police indicate that many houses have damaged facades, roofs, and broken windows.

Two architectural monuments and a temple were also damaged. Dozens of cars were mutilated. Many buildings have broken windows, damaged roofs, and facades.

In particular, one of the religious buildings in the city center was damaged: a fire broke out there. According to the Operational Command "South," the cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) was mutilated.

As the local Telegram channel "Dumska" clarified, the Russians destroyed the Transfiguration Cathedral – the largest Orthodox church in the city, which has an important historical significance.

Currently, rescuers continue to dismantle rubble and eliminate fires. All necessary services are available on-site. Law enforcement officers record the consequences of the attack, protect the territory and damaged buildings, help rescuers eradicate the consequences of the attack, and provide the necessary assistance to the victims.

What did Russia attack with?

According to OC "South," it was a rocket attack. Russians hit Odesa with at least five types of missiles of all bases: "Kalibr," "Onyx," Kh-22, and Iskander-K, and they also used Iskander-M ballistic missiles. Air defense forces destroyed a significant part of the missiles.
