Ukraine allocates over $250,000 for citizens in Dnipropetrovsk region to restore war-affected houses

Ukrainians will receive $250,000 with a state-supported restoration program to recover their housing in the Dnipropetrovsk region, affected by Russian missile attacks.

What is the problem?

As of May 2023, at least 6,964 civilian infrastructure facilities were destroyed and damaged in the Dnipropetrovsk region in constant Russian shelling.

What is the solution?

Local authorities report that all state funds have already been allocated to residents of the Dnipropetrovsk region, which will be used to prioritize the recovery of windows, doors, and roofs damaged by enemy attacks.

How does it work?

Most of the housing in Ukraine is restored by the efforts of volunteers and fundraisers. The region's housing stock is being restored at regional and local expense, local authorities added.

The state government launched a funding recovery program so that any Ukrainian could recover his home affected by Russian attacks.

Ukraine also uses international support to boost its recovery from the war. The UK and Ukraine co-chaired the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2023 in London on 21-22 June 2023. The conference was a continuation of the cycle of annual events, with URC 2022 conducted jointly with Switzerland in Lugano.

URC 2022, held for the first time during the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine, launched the Lugano Principles, which laid the foundation for the reconstruction process of Ukraine and united the world in this effort. Ukraine has already undertaken initiatives to move forward with reconstruction in line with these principles and commitments, despite the circumstances of war.
