Russian forces attempt to breach Ukraine's defenses in northern regions – commander of Joint Forces

Russian forces keep trying to find weaknesses in Ukrainian defense in the Chernihiv and Sumy directions, says the Joint Forces Commander Serhii Nayev.
To check the readiness of forces and scenarios of the enemy's attempts, particularly the Wagner PMC, to enter Ukrainian territory from the Belarusian direction, the Joint Forces Commander, Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev, paid a working visit to the border of the Chernihiv region.
Russia is currently trying to find weaknesses in our defense directly in the Chernihiv and Sumy directions. Infiltration of sabotage and reconnaissance groups was detected at the border, but all their attempts were unsuccessful.
Ukrainian forces are in close cooperation with the heads of military-civilian administrations, taking all necessary measures to strengthen defense capabilities, increase the number of non-explosive engineering barriers, and install additional surveillance cameras.
We are confident that the enemy will not succeed in crossing any part of the state border. If the level of threat increases, our forces will reinforce the troops to prevent the enemy from attempting to invade Ukraine, Nayev emphasized.
Sabotage and reconnaissance groups trying to cross the border from the territory of Russia are the first to be met by units of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. Anti-sabotage reserves are provided in each direction, which are quickly deployed and reinforce border guards to completely destroy the enemy.
The units performing the task of protecting the section of the state border with the Republic of Belarus directly in Chernihiv region have the appropriate forces and means to effectively guard the border and conduct surveillance. They are absolutely sufficient for today, the lieutenant-general assured.
The State Board Guard spokesperson, Andrii Demchenko, said that the enemy is trying to use subversive reconnaissance groups in the Sumy and Kharkiv sectors, but Ukrainian forces are not allowing them to move deeper into Ukraine.
Lately, the enemy has also been trying to use sabotage and reconnaissance groups, in particular in the Sumy and Kharkiv directions, but fortunately, the Defense Forces, all units that strengthen this direction, and the State Border Guard Service units detect such groups in time and do not allow them to go deep into the territory of Ukraine, said Demchenko.
At the same time, he said, such actions of the enemy lead to the deaths of civilians when the enemy shoots at civilian cars.
