Russian rockets destroy 120 tons of crops and injure civilians in night attack on Odesa agribusiness
On Friday night, July 21, the Russian forces attacked an agricultural enterprise in Ukraine's southern Odesa region with Kaliber missiles.
Rubryka reports, citing the statements of Natalia Humeniuk, the spokeswoman for the South operation command, and Oleh Kiper, the head of the Odesa regional military administration, that rockets were targeted at grain warehouses and agricultural machinery storage. Two people were injured.
"The enemy continues terror, which is definitely connected with the grain agreement," Humeniuk said. "This night, the enemy targeted an agricultural enterprise in the Odesa region, where they tried to destroy grain stocks, directly targeting the preservation hangars and the enterprise where agricultural machinery was stored."
According to her, the Russian occupiers attacked with Kalibr missiles, taking a missile carrier on duty in the Black Sea in the middle of the night and directing the rockets on a challenging course using the features of the terrain.
The rockets were flying at a very low altitude, and it was difficult to detect them, so the impact happened almost simultaneously with the air raid warning.
"At first, there were two rockets. When the rescue operation and firefighting began, they made another rocket strike. Fortunately, the rescuers managed to take shelter. But a lot of agricultural and rescue equipment was damaged," Humeniuk noted. According to the spokeswoman, there are no reports about victims.
Later, Oleh Kiper, the head of the Odesa region, clarified that this was the fourth Russian attack on the Odesa region in a week. The Russian strike destroyed 100 tons of peas and 20 tons of barley. According to the governor, two people were injured due to the explosion, cut by glass.
Yesterday, July 20, the Russians attacked Odesa and the region at night: a fire broke out in the middle of the city. The attack destroyed the administrative building in the center of Odesa. Many nearby houses were also damaged. At least four people, including a child, were injured. During firefighting at the site of one of the impacts, a rescuer suffered a heat stroke.
As of 11:00, it was reported about the death of a civil guard in the destroyed building. In the Odesa region, the Russian invaders mainly targeted warehouses.
