Ukrainian medics receive 40 ambulances via United24
Ukrainian doctors have received 40 emergency vehicles purchased through the United24 fundraiser, says the digital minister Mykhailo Fedorov.
Previously, the initiative raised money for 17 more ambulances or Ukrainian medics.
What is the problem?
World's doctors say if a person is provided with emergency medical care within the first 10 minutes, his survival rate equals 80%. Each subsequent minute reduces this figure by almost half. That is why equipping hospitals and clinics with resuscitation vehicles is becoming an important task.
What is the solution?
All these 40 ambulances will be sent to Dnipro, Sumy, Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Khmelnytsky, Vinnytsia, Lviv, and Kyiv.
How does it work?
Each ambulance means hundreds of lives saved. The cars have everything you need for this: oxygen cylinders, heart monitors and defibrillators, electrocardiographs and artificial lung ventilation devices, said Fedorov.
A total of 200 ambulances have been purchased through United24, which help to bring even seriously injured people to the hospital, the minister said.
During the Kakhovka dam explosion, the initiative purchased four Bohun-2 all-terrain rescue vehicles to evacuate the affected Kherson region. Boats, motorized pumps, and various pieces of rescue equipment were also purchased and delivered as part of the Lifeboat for Ukraine fundraiser, which exceeded 200,000,000 UAH.
In all time of the platform's existence, the donors raised over $420 million for Ukraine's needs during the war.
