Ireland's PM visits Kyiv to meet Zelensky
Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar, who arrived in Ukraine on a visit on July 19, met with President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The head of state reported this on Telegram.
"I welcome to Ukraine the head of the Government of Ireland, Leo Varadkar. Today we will hold important negotiations: security, political interaction, justice for Ukraine, and our economic interaction.
Although Ireland is a neutral country, this neutrality does not mean indifference, which is very important. Thank you for all the support!" Zelensky emphasized.
It should be noted that Varadkar and Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin visited the sites of Russian crimes in Bucha, Kyiv region.
Kostin says, "Today, Bucha is a free and safe city. But we will never forget the terrible mass murders of civilians committed here by Russian troops."
The Prosecutor General informed the Irish Prime Minister that "more than 1,400 civilians were killed in the Bucha district, and even more were tortured."
He noted that "the systematic nature of these crimes shows that the aggressor persecutes Ukrainians because of their national identity and pro-Ukrainian position. Similar cases are recorded in other liberated cities."
For reference:
It should be noted that the Irish military has started training Ukrainian servicemen in demining and bomb disposal.
In addition, Ireland plans to hold a tender for the accommodation of asylum seekers in floating hotels and ships, as there are not enough places to accommodate them in the country due to the influx of refugees.
