USAID chief Samantha Power arrives in Ukraine
Samantha Power, the administrator of the US Agency for International Development (USAID), arrived in Ukraine on Monday.
It is her second visit to Ukraine since Russia's full-scale war, US Ambassador Bridget Brink greeted her at a rail station.
It's good to be back in Ukraine, Power said. Even as the Ukrainian people fight back against Putin's brutality, they are looking to the future – they're innovating, transforming & rebuilding. Follow along the next few days to see how the U.S. is partnering with them to build for the future.
Administrator Power will meet with Ukrainian officials to discuss USAID's ongoing partnership with the Ukrainian people as they stand up to Putin's aggression and continue to build for the future.
During her visit, she will meet with Ukrainian farmers, private sector leaders, members of civil society, energy workers, youth, emergency response teams, and mental health professionals who are working to build a better future for Ukraine.
The Administrator will also visit USAID partners who deliver vital assistance to those suffering as a result of Russia's aggression, including key examples of ongoing development work that supports infrastructure and institutions that are critical to Ukraine's future.
Her previous visit to Kyiv took place in October last year.
