US House approves $300 mln for Ukraine in new defense budget bill
The US House of Representatives voted for the draft US defense budget for next year, with $300 million for Ukraine.
However, five amendments were put forward for discussion, which demanded a reduction or even termination of aid to Ukraine, which did not receive proper feedback from both parties.

The Ukraine support bill is equivalent to the amount requested by the Biden administration, but at the same time, it is $500 million less than was agreed last year. Back then, $800 million was allocated to Ukraine as part of the US defense budget. The final approval of the bill is anticipated at the Senate.
Another section of the bill calls for extending Ukraine's defense lend-lease, adopted in 2022, for at least another year. The Senate's draft defense budget also states that general support for Ukraine should be extended until at least 2027.
Separate funds are allocated for researching the potential for creating a Ukrainian center of excellence for the treatment of traumatic brain injuries and limb injuries, and amputations resulting from Russian aggression.
