On Thursday, Poland and South Korea agreed to participate in Ukraine's recovery and signed a memorandum on cooperation in post-war reconstruction, the Chosun Ilbo reports.

What is the problem?

Russian occupiers have been destroying civilian houses, critical infrastructure facilities, and the historical architectural heritage of Ukraine daily for over a year and a half.

After the end of the war, Ukrainians needed quick and effective actions to restore the community, culture, environment, and economy of settlements because it would take decades for Ukraine to rebuild everything on its own.

What is the solution?

President Yoon Suk Yeol, who visited Warsaw on an official visit, held a high-level meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda. The two countries' leaders signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation in reconstructing Ukraine.

How does it work?

The details of this memorandum have not yet been announced. "We agreed that South Korea and Poland can be optimal partners for restoring Ukraine," the South Korean leader emphasized.

Yoon Suk Yeol also said that he and Duda agreed to cooperate to protect the international order based on norms. "We decided to continue to support it," he added.

As Rubryka reported, at the end of May, the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea signed a Memorandum on strengthening cooperation in the reconstruction of Ukraine.

During a meeting with high-ranking officials and business representatives of the Republic of Korea, the Deputy Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine, Oleksandr Azarkhina, presented the critical priorities of recovery for 2023.

The projects of the concession of the port of Chornomorsk, the development of the Danube cluster, and the support of the "grain initiative" were discussed separately.

Representatives of the Republic of Korea were interested in the DREAM reconstruction management digital ecosystem implemented by the Ministry of Reconstruction.

South Korea recently provided non-lethal aid to Ukraine, fighting against Russian aggression. It was also previously reported that Poland handed over a dozen Mi-24 combat helicopters to Ukraine to fight against Russian aggression.
