Ukraine’s western Zaporizhzhia region opens Exporter’s School to support local businesses

With the support of the UN Development Program, the Exporter's School will start working in Ukraine's western Zakarpattia region,

What is the problem?

Ukraine is one of the world's largest producers of various agricultural products, including grain and various types of vegetables, fruits, meat, dairy products, oil, honey, and nuts. After Russia, with its aggressive war, Russia made uninterrupted exports by sea transport impossible by seizing and blocking Ukrainian ports on the Black and Azov Seas, so Ukrainian agricultural exports were forced to look for new logistical routes to consumers. Entrepreneurs need to increase their business capacity to conduct foreign economic activities.

What is the solution?

With the support of UNDP, the Exporter's School is being launched to directly contribute to the development of entrepreneurship, the regional economy, and the growth of production volumes of economic entities, including export volumes.

How does it work?

According to the plan, it will open this year in October. The educational and training platform will be divided into two levels — BASIC and PRO. Both novice and experienced exporters seeking to expand their presence in foreign sales markets can participate online and offline.

Business representatives can obtain professional theoretical knowledge, learn practical skills, and improve already acquired ones free of charge.

Project participants will also get acquainted with confirmed cases of successful export-oriented businesses. The exporter school will operate within the framework of the Project "Supporting inclusive development in Ukraine through the connection of export strategy, regional development, and sustainable development goals," financed by the German government.

Rubryka reported that a similar Export School for entrepreneurs was opened in Ukraine's northwestern Zhytomyr region.
