Ukraine begins developing documents with guarantor states – Zelensky

After the G7 agreed to a joint declaration of support, Ukraine is already starting to develop bilateral documents with the G7 countries and those who join the declaration.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said this during a press conference in Vilnius, Ukrinform reports.

"Between us, those in the declaration, we are already developing bilateral documents. And also with those states that join this declaration. Whoever wants to, of course. But we see that there will be a serious union," Zelensky said.

The head of state also added on Telegram that the Ukrainian delegation is returning from the NATO summit in Vilnius with a significant security victory for Ukrainians and Ukraine.

"We need significant success for Ukraine. I am grateful to all the leaders and all NATO countries for their practical and unprecedented support for Ukraine, given the decades of our relations," he said.

Zelensky said that Ukraine currently has security guarantees while moving towards NATO. He emphasized that this is an "essential package of guarantees."

"We agree with the G7 based on the architecture of guarantees, and we will further expand them through bilateral and multilateral agreements with partners," the president of Ukraine noted.

At the same time, he explained that security guarantees include measures to help Ukraine protect itself and prevent new aggression, actions in case of new aggression, and support in holding Russia accountable for aggression.

"The Ukrainian delegation is returning home with a significant security victory for our people, for our state. This opens up completely new security opportunities for us," Zelensky summed up.

The Group of Seven (G7) leaders agreed on the "Joint Declaration of Support for Ukraine" on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Vilnius.

The document, in particular, stipulates that each of the G7 countries will work with Ukraine on specific bilateral security obligations to strengthen the armed forces and strengthen the economic stability of Ukraine; it will provide technical and financial support, in particular, for Ukraine to continue reforms.
